Last week, Woodhouse Estonia visited South Korea together with several wooden house manufacturers and wood industry representatives. The business mission of the woodhouse and wood products sector was organized by Enterprise Estonia in cooperation with the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In addition to business meetings in the new Estonian Business Hub in Seoul, a seminar introducing the Estonian wood construction sector and the wood industry was held for local wood sector companies and journalists. The visit of the business mission to Korea is also covered in local newspapers – “Timber industry”
During five days, Estonian companies managed to meet more than 50 potential business partners, and in addition, they also visited one of the largest manufacturers of wooden modular houses in the region – Xigei. Xigeist’s is producing one- to two-story private houses, and the company belongs to the 8 largest business groups in Korea – GS E&C Group, with a total turnover of €45 billion (2019).
Separate meetings were also held with the Korea Wood Industry Association and the Korea Wood Construction Association.
