Prefab House of The Year 2022
The competition is organized by the Estonian Wooden House Association and the wooden house cluster for the 12th time, and its main goal is to recognize the best wooden factory houses produced by Estonian companies and to introduce the possibilities of wooden construction as a whole.
Wooden houses produced in the factory, which have been completed and accepted by the customer in the period 2019-2022, can be submitted to the factory house competition. The applicant object must meet three requirements in the general plan: the main structure supporting the building or special solution must be made of wood and pre-manufactured under factory conditions, and an Estonian company must have control over the creation, production and construction of the engineering solution for the competition.
Over the years, more than 220 different objects from different countries, even Japan and South Korea, have participated in the factory house competition. Last year, a total of 20 different buildings from the home country and the sector’s main target countries, Norway, Sweden and Finland, were presented. The most prominent among them was Kodumaja Hotel-Conference Center in Norway, which was rated as the overall winner.
