Prefab House of the Year 2023

Contest is organized by Woodhouse Estonia for the 13th time. All Estonian companies that produce factory-made wooden houses are pleased to attend in the competition.

The competition’s main goal is to recognize the best wooden factory houses produced by Estonian companies and to introduce the possibilities of wooden construction as a whole.

Wooden houses produced in the factory, which have been completed and accepted by the customer in the period 2020-2023, can be submitted to the factory house competition.

The applicant object must meet three requirements in the general plan:

  • Load bearing structure or special solution must be made of wood;
  • Construction must be pre-manufactured under factory conditions;
  • Estonian company must have control over the creation, production and construction of the engineering solution;

Over the years, more than 230 different objects from different countries, even Japan and South Korea, have participated in the factory house competition. Last year, overall winner and the best apartment building was Kodumaja apartment buildings in Norway.
